Measurement and diagnostics of hydraulic components

September 2018

#Complex Diagnostics of Machinery #Predictive maintenance #Diagnostics

Project's goal

Money saving for external repairs by means of own diagnostics of hydraulic component condition of car production machinery.

Own periodic tests

Results

Periodic tests and checks of hydraulic components on FabLab premises.

Description of solution

The hydraulic components perform the function of directing the oil in the car production machine in the appropriate direction so that the oil is in the right place and at the right time. If this did not happen, there would be a collision of the machine and a shutdown in car production.  Approximately 1500 machines in Škoda Auto works with hydraulics, it is therefore very important to maintain these components in their best condition and perform their regular inspection. However, inspection and possibility to adjust hydraulic components are complex tasks that were not even possible in Škoda Auto in the past. That was no obstacle for us and we decided to create a testing device for possibility of connection of the tested component. This testing device serves to simulate the function which is normally performed by the component in regular work cycle of machine and thus it is possible to predict how the component will behave in real car production operation. This workplace is at the moment widely used by our maintenance department for complex repairs and verification of the proper functionality of hydraulic systems in all Škoda Auto operations.
