Solution Description
As part of the cooperation between FabLab and colleagues from Prusa Research a.s., the opportunity to test the latest 3D printers (MK4 and XL) free of charge was arranged. These printers will go through various departments of Škoda Auto a.s. where 3D printing is actively used as part of their work for approximately 2-3 weeks.
The Original Prusa XL is a large format CoreXY 3D printer with print dimensions of 360×360×360 mm. The printer can be expanded with an optional tool changer with up to five independent heads.
The original Prusa MK4 consistently offers a perfectly smooth first layer thanks to the Load Cell sensor (no manual tuning required). The next-generation extruder (Nextruder) and 32-bit platform provide specific benefits such as remote printing, fast nozzle changes, and customizable one-click start-up controls.
