Description of solution
Having successfully verified the use of thermo-diagnostics to detect faults of carrier drives at the UBS line in Kvasiny, we at Škoda FabLab have decided to continue measuring another production line in the Kvasiny Paint Shop. This time it concerns the HRK line, where we have again used the already known thermo-diagnostic measuring system, with which we are able to detect the rising temperature of a drive and so give warning in time of an impending fault. The system consisting again of two thermal cameras stores the maximum, minimum and the differential temperature in the database, and based on the data evaluation, the maintenance team is warned in time that a drive failure is imminent.
You can see very clearly in one of the attached pictures (n. 2) why it is always necessary to carry out a test diagnostic measurement before the final installation of a diagnostic system and how important it is to accurately and correctly position the thermal cameras. In this case – during the first test measurement, the upper thermal camera detected, instead of the temperature of the carrier drive, the temperature of the carrier structure, which is heated by the passing through the furnace. Therefore, unlike the UBS line, it will be necessary to use only a side-view thermal camera for this line.
Po ukončení termodiagnostického měření výrobní provoz obdrží výslednou zprávu, která bude obsahovat vyhodnocení naměřených dat a návrh prvotních hranic condition monitoring měření. Tyto informace lze následně využít pro finální realizaci termodiagnostického systému.
Benefits
- Deployment of an automatic method of predictive maintenance
- Early warning of a failure
- Extended know-how on the possibility of using thermo-diagnostics directly in production facilities
- Thermo-diagnostic measurement is planned to be further expanded to Assembly Shop M1 in Mladá Boleslav
