Project's goal

To expand the portfolio of conventional technologies and tools for vibration diagnostics of machinery at Škoda Auto with an innovation in the form of motion amplification technology.

Results

Successful implementation of the IRIS M system from RDI Technologies using Motion amplification technology for vibrodiagnostics of machinery in Škoda Auto.

Solution description

In practice, IRIS M has been successfully used to diagnose many key devices in the manufacturing process. For example, vibrations were detected on machines that were caused by insufficient structural rigidity, shaft bending or insufficiently accurate coupling alignment. With the help of this technology, several new devices that had already had a malfunction from the factory were also claimed – e.g. poor impeller balance. Thanks to the early identification of the fault, it was possible to carry out the necessary repairs without disrupting production.

Motion amplification technology is crucial in detecting failures of entire structures. It takes days to measure and analyze insufficiently rigid structures using conventional methods. By using motion amplification technology, the time required to analyze data is reduced to hours.

Motion amplification is a revolutionary technology that allows you to visualize vibrations and movements that are otherwise invisible to the naked eye. It uses highly sensitive cameras and advanced algorithms to highlight small movements in software, allowing for quick and accurate diagnosis of problems in machinery.
